Frequently asked questions

The free plan includes the daily challenge (one pattern + one fast fact), limited daily drills, basic progress tracking, and your streak calendar. Upgrade to Premium for unlimited drills, spaced repetition, the full pattern library, and analytics.
Go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the Apple ID that originally made the purchase. If your purchase still doesn't restore, contact us and we'll sort it out.
Yes. Sign in with Apple on each device using the same Apple ID, then restore your purchase. Your subscription will be active on all devices linked to that Apple ID.
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → CandleBoss → Cancel. You'll keep Premium access until the end of the current billing period.
Spaced repetition uses the SM-2 algorithm to schedule pattern reviews at increasing intervals based on how well you answered. Patterns you struggle with appear more often; patterns you know well appear less. This maximizes long-term retention with minimal practice time.
Streaks require completing at least one drill or daily challenge per day. If your streak reset due to a technical issue, contact us with your Apple ID email and we'll investigate. Note that streaks that lapsed due to missed days cannot be restored.
The contact-based leaderboard compares your score against people in your contacts locally on your device. Their data is never uploaded or shared — only your own XP score is synced to our servers via CloudKit.
CandleBoss requires iOS 16 or later and is compatible with iPhone and iPad.
